You notice it as you press the door handle made from an ice axe; This place is different!
The name Piltriquitron can be difficult to remember, but once you have visited Jacob and Conny's lodge in the center of St. Anton you never forget, and chances are high that you return again and again and again. The atmosphere inside is relaxed and makes you feel, the hosts love to the mountains. This rubs off on you, as a guest and you have the choice of the many stories the pictures on the walls tell.
" With a smile on your face, after a great day on the mountain, it is wonderful to come home to the lodge, gather around the table with cold beer from the best selection and enjoy the company."
A day at Piltriquitron starts with a large buffet where the foundation for daily activities are made. In winter it's time to get up into the mountains to enjoy the fresh powder snow as it comes mostly in St. Anton. Despite many people on the slopes you can still find places to ski untracked snow for many days. With a smile on your face, after a great day on the mountain, it is wonderful to come home to the lodge, gather around the table with cold beer from the best selection and enjoy the company. When the snow has left the mountains in summer the days are the same, except that the skis been replaced by bikes. Here you will find narrow single tracks on both sides of the valley, and the view is phenomenal!
Summer or winter - make sure you catch an evening with the Argentine asado. Inspired by their second home in Patagonia, Conny and Jacob will take you on a gastronomic journey to the steppes of South America. This evening you'll never forget!

The welcoming and relaxed atmosphere at Skier's Lodge, as we know it, is why it is always our 1st call when a trip to St Anton is on the cards. The central but quiet location is perfect for a night out as well as a good nights sleep. Breakfast is a casual affair with timing coordinated around the guests and Jacob has perfected the arts of the perfect boiled egg. In fact, breakfast is so casual that many guests feel totally as easy popping out of their rooms still in their pyjamas!!! Myself probably starting the trend when I couldn't ski for a few days and so was taking the long, relaxed approach.
" A home away from home"
Skier's Lodge is a home away from home and you are guaranteed to make friends with any of the other guests during your stay there. Jacob and Connie are the perfect hosts and will try there best to accommodate you.

when Work becomes vacation
We like to be based at the Piltriquitron Lodge during our photo and film shootings at the Arlberg. We do love the home feeling, the quietness and the new inspiration the lodge offers anytime we come back. Likewise sharing moments with Jacob and Conny takes you to achieve more and more from their mountaineering and skiing experience.
"The perfect work space"
In St. Anton work becomes vacation and with the perfect workspace the lodge has to offer, we can achive the best possible results. When it becomes time to leave we think about the next shooting, to come back and delight the feeling we always get!

Arlberg. The holy grail of skiing, the cradle...... the best off piste in the..... well! Lot of words but what does it mean? St. Anton a great place to ski and we love skiing! The local people love to ski and people from all over the world works in the village with one simple goal.... to ski !
To have a piece of this cake it's necessary to understand how it works. If you dream about skiing off-piste, skiing good snow and discover remote places, the ingredients of the holy grail, best off piste etc. then a guide would be a great idea. None of the many guide books will provide you with safety, local knowledge or untouched powder snow. If you decide to head out on your own you must look and must know where you are heading. Not just follow some cool looking guy with fat skis, it might kill you. Gain experience step by step, year by year. It takes time to understand a place.
"Apres ski, the old relaxed way with a quality bottle of wine instead of low quality snaps and beer might provide more energy for the day to come"
Apres ski, the old relaxed way with a quality bottle of wine instead of low quality snaps and beer might provide more energy for the day to come. It is not possible to drink hard and ski strong. On the mountain as much as in the valley you can find signs of old ski culture, the 'new' way of skiing (freeride and ski touring) is no different from what the locals have done for the last 100 years. What the ski industry and other ski destinations call fashion is our culture and roots. Mountain culture and active life style as tradition.
Maybe this is the true value of the place and the way we ski.
Enjoy skiing St. Anton and the Arlberg region. Make many turns and absorb as many face shots as possible.

Trail running is a variant on running that differs markedly from road running and track running. Trail running generally takes place on hiking trails, most commonly single track trails. A distinguishing characteristic of the trails is that they are often inaccessible by road except at the trail heads. The trails tend to traverse varying terrain; hills, mountains and narrow passages are common. Likewise, steep inclines or rough terrain sometimes may require hiking or scrambling.
" Trail running is an impressive and unique way to enjoy the alpine landscape.. "
In St. Anton you can find a large net of trails in the valley, up high in the alpine and as a connection of both. If you choose a week-end or a full week, many trail variations can be found. Even lift supported high alpine trails can be found around the Kapal, Galzig and Rendl mountains. There is a growing number of people participating in solo backcountry trail running trips, which are a sort of ultralight backpacking.
